Mother's Day Present...Check!

So I don't know what you got you mom for Mother's Day, but I got my mom a Master's Degree.  That's right folks, your looking at a Master's graduate!  I earned my degree in Education Administration & Leadership with an emphasis in Student Affairs from the University of the Pacific!  I was so happy to have my parents, God-parents, aunt and an uncle were all in attendance as I walked across the stage for my hooding ceremony.

After the early morning Commencement ceremony, my family and some friends went to Papapavlo Bar & Bistro for a delicious Greek lunch.  Had some drinks, opened some presents and received some very touching toasts before I gave teary-eyed thank you speech.  Later that day, I had my Hooding Ceremony with the rest of my classmates and the entire College of Education.

My dad had the graduation from undergrad 2 years ago the day before Father's Day, and now my mom get's the Masters for Mother's Day!  I think that this is the best present I could give my mom. 

Spring Surprises

Now for the surprise...I work on a college campus as an advisor to fraternities and sororities on top of being a full time Grad student.  I will be graduating next week and then I'll be leaving my position at the end of May.  There is one chapter that I work more closely with than others, Alpha Phi, and these are a group of women that I love to death!  They know that I'm graduating and they supervised me with a cake and basket full of goodies...I like surprises and I like goodies, l0l.  Then they did this little power point slide that they do for all of their seniors asking me about my plans and my favorite memories of Pacific and their chapter.

They let me know that I will always have a home and they assured me that I'll be missed...this a great way to start the end of the school year.

Next I wanted to share this new giveaway from Jasifers Lions Club for a $50 gift card for Igigi.com.  I'm entering it and I hope that you enter too!  Jennifer asks that you share what item you would purchase and why.  I really like this dress because I find that it would be perfect for interviewing.  I'll be graduating this spring with my Masters and I have officially begun the job search process.  This dress will allow people to see my personality before my interview got underway.  Wish me luck ya'll!

I'll be having a food date with my friend Kevin next weekend in the city and I as I was checking out one of the posts for Cupcakes Take The Cakes I got super excited.  If you didn't know, here's a newsflash...I love cupcakes!  And next weekend there's going to be this big event of cupcake tasting.  Kevin and I share a love for food, so I'm hoping he's interested in attending this event after we're had our fill of Ethiopian food.  For more information on the cupcake tasting, visit my girls at Cupcakes Take The Cakes!

And most importantly...I'm finished with the first part of my Master's comprehensive exams.  I will submit the written responses in the morning and then defend them when I get back from Spring Break.  It's time to start counting down to May 7th!
