30 for 30 Remix Finale!

That's right ya'll, I'm done!  I got so excited about being done that I lost track of the day and did 31 days, l0l.  I hope that you've enjoyed following my adventures experimenting with different combinations for these past few weeks.  It went by so fast so I know for sure that I will be doing this again.  And let's be real, I know my pocketbook was happy to have gotten some rest.  On my shopping list: black pencil and/or A-line skirt, black skinny jeans, and closed toed work shoes, l0l

As school is starting to really pick up, I have to make sure that I take time out to make sure that I keep my goal of continuous blogging.

There's so much more of me to come, so stay tuned!

30 for 30 Remix: Week 4

Three more days left and I couldn't be more excited.  My favorite outfits of the week are Day 24 and 27, but Day 24 is the outfit of the week winner.

Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for outfits for the last few days!

30 for 30 Remix: Week 3

Day 15:  Sweater & Scarf-Old Navy/ Trousers-Target/Heals-Forever 21
Day 16: Blouse-Lane Bryant/ Trousers-Torrid/Flats-Ross
Day 17: Sweater-Old Navy/ Blouse-JC Penny/ Jeans-New York & Co. Sale/ Boots-Ross
Day 18: Shirt-Old Navy/ Trousers-Torrid/ Sandals-Sheik
Day 19: Scarf-Forever 21/ Dress-Ross// Flats-Ross
Day 20: Blouse-Lane Bryant/ Skirt & Tights-Target/ Heals-Forever 21
Day 21: Shirt-Old Navy/ Trousers-Faith 21/ Wedges (mall)

I love this coat.  Per the rules it's not one of my items as it's winter time and outerwear doesn't count.  Anywho, I was able to get this coat at a steal of about $40 - originally about $80-$90 bucks.  Old navy had an extra mark down on all selected clearance items and I had my coupon for an additional 10% coupon.

I'm so excited I have 4 days left before I've finished the 30 for 30 Challenge and I find myself already thinking of a late spring and summer challenges.  I'll post this past week once I take a picture of tomorrow's outfit.

30 for 30 Remix: Week 2

For some reason this week was a little more challenging than the first.  Although this week was a little tough, I was able to add a few more items to the challenge - red suede pumps, linen wide leg trousers, and my black dress.  There were two days (12 & 13) were I had to were specific things, but I was able to make it work within the 30 for 30 Remix guidelines.  I had a hard time picking what my favorite outfit of the week was, but I went with day 8.  From head to toe it was my favorite on how it made my body look and who doesn't love sexy pumps that catch everyone's attention?!  I'm looking forward to seeing what I come up with for the next couple of weeks!

Day 8: Jacket-Torrid/ Top-LC via Khol's Sale/ Trousers-Forever 21/ Pumps-Torrid
Day 9: Sweater-Target/ Orange Shirt & Jeans-New York & Co. Sale/ Flats-Ross
Day 10: Sweater-Random/ Blouse-New York & Co. Sale/ Trousers-Torrid/ Flats-Ross
Day 11: Sweater, Shirt, & Skirt-Target/ Flats-Ross
Day 12: Dress & Belt-Torrid Clearance/ Sandals-Sheik
Day 13: Dress-Ross/ Pumps-Torrid
Day 14: Sweater & Skirt-Target/ Blouse-New York & Co. Sale/ Flats-Ross

So this week I also had some time to play around in my make-up creating a look that I've never had before.  I sometimes get frustrated trying to put eye make-up on because I can't see without my glasses and the lighting in my apartment is terrible, but I do my best to make it work.  I also had the time to paint my nails, choice of therapy.

This week was the start to a lot of new things - my office moved locations, sorority recruitment, duty, school, and of course the 30 for 30 Remix challenge that I signed up for.  I'm having so much fun with everything, minus the duty and my teacher assigning what seems to be crazy amounts of reading. Although it's growing on me, my desk is in the middle of everything and side by side with my co-workers so there's less privacy than there was in the old office.  This 30 for 30 is going great so far!  I love walking into the office and letting everyone she how the thick & sexy do it!  I'm having so much fun shopping my closet and picking out pieces that I know I can mix and match easily.  I will be featuring one outfit as my favorite for the week - the description will be in red.  This first week I used 23 of my 30 items and I have 2 of the 7 remaining items pegged.  I'm so happy that scarves, and jewelery especially, aren't included in the count of items because this girl doesn't leave the house without some sort of accessory on.

In more exciting news I got the internship that I applied for.  I will be a graduate intern for the AFLV-West conference taking place in Orange County around mid-April.  I can't wait because it will give a great networking opportunity for job searching and more experience in event planning (my dream job).  The more I think about it, the anticipation starts building because it marks the ending of my last semester therefore graduation and family coming to visit me!

Pay It Forward 2011 & 30 for 30 Challenges

Pay It Forward
After seeing the Pay It Forward Challenge popping up everywhere on the blogs, I've decided to participate.  I love crafting and making creative gifts that people will love AND use.  I love to see how others use their creativity and talents to brighten up the days of others.  Originated by Carla of Messy Carla, I will be participating with Jesnesaisquoi I am extremely excited to participate in this challenge! Here are the rules from Jesnesaisquoi's blog as given by Carla:
Pay it forward 2011 - I promise to make something handmade for the first FIVE people who comment. (Make sure that you follow me)!
They must in turn, post this and make something for the first FIVE who comment on their status (blog post).
The rules are it has to be handmade by you, and they must receive it before 2011 ends.
If you want to participate:
  • Be one of the first five to comment.
  • Please leave your email address so I can contact you directly.
  • Be sure to repost this to your own blog if you do comment, as that's the point of Pay It Forward after all!

     30 for 30 Challenge
So this challenged got started a while ago, but I've decided that I really wanted to participate in this challenge too.  I have so many clothes and sometimes I tell myself, as any fashion addict, "I don't have anything to wear."  This challenge is designed to help people shop their closets instead of always going out and buying more items.  I'm so excited to see what combinations I come up with as well as my partners in crime.  I persuaded two of my fashionable co-workers, Jon and Jake, to join me in the challenge.  They freaked out a little when I was explaining the rules, but I think there just as intrigued as I am to see what they come up with.  Here are the rules from the originator of the challenge, Kendi Everyday:
    1. Pick out 30 items from your closet. Shoes are included in the count, coats and accessories (i.e. tights,  jewelry, hats, gloves, and so on are not.) I won't use a coat yet here in Texas, but you might in say Chicago so I don't want to penalize you for Mother Nature's wily ways.
    2. Remix the 30 items into 30 or more outfits.
    3. No shopping for 30 days.

I'll be posting pictures of the challenge by the week instead of blogging about it everyday.  I'm so ready to see the results!
