Positivity Pays Off!: Weigh In Wednesday

Current Weight: 214.2
Total Weight Lost: 15.6

I'm so excited to say that stay positive paid off!  I lost another pound this week even though I had a cupcake three days straight and although I didn't cook that much this week, I made smarter choice when dining out.  I also kicked a bad habit and got back into the gym!  I was able to get into an old pair of jeans that I haven't worn for about a year. It feels good to feel good!

In my old jeans touching the moon!

This upcoming week I'll be at a conference so I have to make sure that I'm making smarter decisions with food.  I also have to make sure that I take advantage of opportunities to move around and work-out.

Goal for the Week: Make the right choices.

Take a Hike!!

Today I tried something different and new in my workout routine, I took a hike around the lake at my job!  A coworker, a student and I walked/hike a total of 2.3 miles.  It was a great way for us to enjoy 90 degree weather in March...in Kentucky!  After being in the office all day it was nice being outside and switching up my workout.  The elliptical gets a little boring after a while.

This is an actual picture of the lake that I walked around today, Eagle Lake in Morehead, KY. The only difference is that it's not this green yet.  It was so peaceful and really gave me a great sweat.  I'm hoping to make many more trips around this lake. I was a great way to end the day!

Weight Loss is Hard

Current Weight: 215.2
Total Weight Lost: 14.6

Let's just say this was a hard day at the scale today.  I'm starting to get discouraged but I have to keep a positive attitude to get positive results and stay on track.
I need to remind myself of my goals - the big picture.

Goals for the Week: Stay positive!

Gotta Love Losing!

Current Weight: 215
Total Weight Lost: 14.8

Biggest Challenge: Not letting my work schedule influence bad decisions when it came to what I ate.

Favorite Meals: Friday I had 4 slices of pizza and loaded potato skins at a local pizzeria.

What I'm Most Proud Of: I'm still making the right food choices that help me to keep losing even  though I didn't make it to the gym...again.  I allowed myself to have a cheat day on Friday, but after I got it out of my system I was very successful with my food choices.

Goals for the Week: Must get back to the gym!

Weigh In Wednesday

Current Weight: 216
Total Weight Lost: 13.8

Biggest Challenge: Making the best decisions with limited time and limited money to feed myself.  I also got off track and didn't go to the gym all week.

Favorite Meals: I had a few favorite meals this past week.  The WW meeting that happened last week talked about making the best decision when eating out, plan ahead if you can.  Well I got to practice this twice. First, my boss treated me to lunch at Cracker Barrel on Thursday.  There I had the spicy grilled catfish fillets with turn-up greens, sweet potato casserole, and one scoop of ice cream.  On Tuesday I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and had the naked chicken tenders with the dry rub on a side salad (no croutons or cheese) with my ranch on the side.

What I'm Most Proud Of: I'm making the right food choices that allow me to keep losing even if I don't make it to the gym.

Goals for the Week: Increase the water intake and get back to the gym!

Kevin Hart, Let Me Explain

This last weekend I joined a few of my coworkers for a night out in Louisville to see Kevin Hart live for his new tour, "Let Me Explain."  Let me tell you, that man is hilarius to the 10th power, l0l.  I was laughing from the time he stepped on stage, to when he stepped off.  Tears rolling down my cheeks and a free ab work out.  If you have the chance to see him in action, GO!

For dinner we at this Mexican restaurant called Sol Azteca that I found on Yelp.  The food is delicious, but the service was terrible.  Maybe they weren't expecting to be so busy, but they had 4 staff members in the front of house for dinner service in a place that seated more than 50 people.

What I wore:
Old Navy top/ Torrid skinny ankle jeans/ Target flats
Aldo earrings/ Forever 21 necklace
MAC lipstick (Girl About Town)

The Gift of Thrift

So this post is way overdo!  Before I went on vacation, I organized a Holiday party for few co-workers.  Because it was right before Christmas, there was a theme of "Ugly Sweater" but no one had an ugly sweater surprisingly enough.  Prior to the party, I helped a co-worker go shopping for something to wear.

We went to our neighborhood Goodwill and found a ton of blazers.  Nothing fit me, but she it the walked out with a least 5 at about $6 each.  This green velvet blazer was one of them.  To update it, we went to Walmart and found new buttons for $2 a pack.

To bring it into the theme of the party we walked over to the jewelry section of Walmart and found a snowman broach for her to wear with the blazer.

How did we do?

Light as a Feather, Firm as a Board

It's been a while since I've done a Weigh In Wednesday post and things have slowed down enough where I can catch you all up on my progress.  As you might have guessed by the title of the post, the weight is melting off and I'm toning.

Current Weight: 216.6
Total Weight Lost: 13.2

Biggest Challenge: I would have to say that my challenges have changed.  Now that I have a new phone, I'm able to more accurately track what I eat.  The challenge is now choosing the right things to eat.  I'm more concerned about making sure that I save money that I've began eating the forbidden Ramen noodles and snacks like Cheese-It's.

Favorite Meals: It's not a meal, but I loved my Kentucky Bourbon Pie cupcake!  It was my valentine gift to myself and the only bad thing I ate all day.

What I'm Most Proud Of: I've been sticking to my workout routine, 6am for 45-75 minutes Monday through Friday.  There have been a few days I've skipped to let my body rest, but I can see and feel a difference in myself.

Goals for the Week: Track better, stay active by going to the gym, continue drinking water, and find active ways to relive stress.
